Bartchall Medical have a vacancy for a full time permanent General Practitioner in Mango Hill, on Brisbane’s north side. We are an independently owned and operated practice that delivers a range of services that belies our size. In addition to specialised skin cancer care and skin rejuvenation treatments we are the only practice on the North side of Brisbane that is affiliated with Travel Clinics Australia. Bartchall Medical utilises the complete patient care model and is a private billing practice, focusing on quality medical outcomes for their client.

SURGERY OVERVIEW
Bartchall Medical started 2 years ago with a new site in Mango Hill. Mango Hills train station was being built and Dr Donna could see an opportunity in the Mango Hill area for a Medical Practice. The area around the practice was about to expand and has done so significantly in the last 2 years. Whilst we are currently a solo practice there is plenty of room and patient demand to expand.
Bartchall Medical is located in Brisbane’s Northern suburbs, approx. 20 minutes from Redcliffe beach, 30-35 minutes from Brisbane and 25 minutes from the airport. We offer medical and healthcare services to residents from many areas, including Mango Hill, North Lakes, Murrumba Downs, Griffin, Rothwell and the Redcliffe Peninsula. Our practice is a short walk from Mango Hill train station and easily accessible by public transport. We provide free off-street parking for patients and easy accessibility via lift for wheelchair access.
Our independently owned and operated private practice delivers diverse healthcare services such as skin rejuvenation and regeneration treatments, skin cancer care and travel vaccination advice. Bartchall Medical can perform minor surgical procedures in house with two specialised medical theatre room’s; one for skin cancer surgery and the other for aesthetics.

Mango Hill Market Place complex offers a range of other healthcare providers, such as a local chemist and allied health services.

Dr Donna Challinor MBBS FRACGP, Dip Women’s Health, Member Skin Cancer College of Australia.
Dr Challinor offers a range of general medical services but has considerable experience in skin cancer treatment, travel medicine and cosmetic skin treatments.

Mango Hill falls within an RA1 area and is a District of Workforce Shortage.
SURGERY LAYOUT
Bartchall Medical has five consultation rooms and three examination rooms with one large theatre and aesthetic procedure room. There is a concierge desk as the presentation to the medical practise, this allows individual greeting and appropriate direction of patients to either general practise room or aesthetics waiting room. The separate accounts payment desk is on the exit side of the medical practice. All rooms have natural lighting plus the latest in LED lighting systems. Every room has a hand basin, soap dispenser, and hand towels, all rooms have individually air conditioned ductwork with a programmable controller to suit your cooling/heating preference. Staff entry is separate to patient entry. The Medical Centre is located within a shopping complex with plenty of parking available.
SURGERY ROUTINE
Bartchall Medical is open Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 6.00pm (with optional pre booked appointments to 8pm). Saturdays: 9.00am to 11.00am (with optional appointments to 1pm) Appointment times are 15 minutes with 3 patients per hour to allow for on the day appointments.
TREATMENT ROOM
Our state-of-the-art treatment room is well-appointed to cater for minor procedures such as skin cancer removal and wound management. We have a central operating theatre equipped with operating bed, operating theatre light, diathermy, scrub sink, and area for cleaning sterilising and storing instruments. The remaining wound care etc. is completed as a mobile medical through the examination rooms.
ADMIN SETUP
Reception staff are situated at the concierge desk and our accounts desk, with the practise manager in an office nearby. We have a fully computerised system for both clinical and administration using Medical Director & Pracsoft. Our medical practice is AGPAL accredited and we are also affiliated with Travel Clinics Australia.
NURSING SERVICES
Bartchall Medical has one AHPRA certified Registered Nurse and one Enrolled Nurse covering the weekday surgery hours
ALLIED HEALTH SERVICES
There are a wide range of allied health services within 5 minutes of our surgery.
SPECIALIST SERVICES
Redcliffe Hospital is located 15 minutes away from the surgery. There is a wide range of specialist services located between Mango Hill and Redcliffe.
DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
QML and Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology are located in Mango Hill. Qscan, I-Med and Queensland Diagnostic Imaging are located within Mango Hill, as well as BreastScreen Queensland.
OTHER CLINICAL SERVICES
Bartchall Medical is associated with Travel Clinics Australia and offers comprehensive travel advice & vaccinations. We also perform skin cancer screening with the ability to do surgical excisions; both simple ellipse, flaps and skin grafts. Our practice also provides cosmetic procedures and injectables, along with plastering for fractures. The practice has dedicated skin rejuvenation and regeneration rooms with comfortable amenities for our patients.
PATIENT DEMOGRAPHICS
Bartchall Medical sees a wide range of patients from birth through to 59 years of age. Our patient base is mainly female with a 2:1 Female to Male ratio.
BILLING ARRANGEMENTS
Billing for the practice is running at approximately 80% private and 15% bulk billing, the other 5 % is for veterans.
Bartchall Medical fees range from $38 to $215 for general practice and our Standard Consultation fee is $76. We also charge a range of private fees for Skin rejuvenation and regeneration treatments.
PATIENT DEMAND
Two years ago the practise was started. The patient numbers are now numbering over 3500 and the practise requires another doctor to keep delivering patient focused care for the area, as now people are being turned away because of full books.
TOWN/SUBURB FACILITIES
Mango Hill is based in the Redcliffe Area of North Brisbane and it has a full range of essential community facilities such as transport, shopping etc.
The Redcliffe Area is 25Km from Brisbane with lots to do including, Jetty markets every Sunday, fantastic local foods including great Italian dining at the Rustic Olive where the food is just Mwah! (that’s Italian perfect) plus the best sea food especially when there are trawlers in the area,
You can always go for a swim in Settlement Cove a man-made lagoon where there is BBQs picnic tables and pergolas.
Whale watching is always fantastic in the winter months the ferry departs from Redcliffe Jetty, You can always feed the pelicans at Pelican Park and they have breakfast daily at 1000hrs. There are plenty of outside activities including walks along the seaside that cover 13km hugging the coast line with plenty of shops along the way.
SKILLS OR INTERESTS SOUGHT
Bartchall Medical is currently seeking full time and part time general practitioners to provide a full range of general practice services such as men’s and women’s health, antenatal care, skin checks and procedures as well as travel health and vaccinations.
We are looking for a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner, with current non-conditional AHPRA registration and be able to work in the Brisbane area. Additional qualifications such as an Aviation or Diving Medical Examiner would be well received.
CIRCUMSTANCES
Rapidly growing patient demand has left Dr Challinor fully booked and turning patients away. There is plenty of demand for a new GP to hit the ground running
CONTRACT TERMS
We are negotiable with hours, rates and other contractual arrangements.
LOCUM TERMS
Bartchall Medical is looking for a Locum who can grow with the business. Preference would be to work 20 hours per week to see if the doctor fits the practise and the doctor is comfortable with the working conditions.
