Croydon Medical Centre are seeking the services of a full or part time permanent General Practitioner for our Medical Practice in Croydon, in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
Our family owned practice is very well established and centrally located in Croydon town centre. Being a very busy training practice, we are constantly striving to provide the highest level of clinical care to our patients.

SURGERY OVERVIEW
Croydon Medical Centre was re-established in 2010 after the previous owner closed the surgery down. The premises were extensively renovated and expanded to its current 6 consulting rooms and a treatment room was also added. Last year the surgery was again refurbished with fresh carpet, new office furniture and an updated computer system. The practice owners are looking into a future expansion of the surgery upstairs and the possible inclusion of Xray and Ultrasound facilities.
Croydon Medical Centre is a teaching practice with two registrars and one medical student at present. Our practice principle is a college examiner for the RACGP who also teaches medical students at Melbourne University and oversees the practice training program.
Another of our doctors, Dr Cortes, has a diploma in skin cancer and specialises in skin cancer screening, excisions & other skin procedures.
Our practice is conveniently located inside a pharmacy, is just over the road from Croydon railway station and only 5 minutes from Eastland Shopping Centre.
SURGERY OWNERSHIP
Croydon Medical Centre is owned and operated by the principle doctor and his wife.
SURGERY LAYOUT
Our surgery has 6 consulting rooms, 1 treatment room, Clinical Labs pathology, a staff room and room controlled air-conditioning. There is plenty of public car parking nearby.
SURGERY FACILITIES
Our surgery consulting hours are Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 5.30pm, Saturday: 9am to 5pm and Sunday: 9.30am to 4.00pm.
We operate a 10 minute appointment schedule.
TREATMENT ROOM
Croydon Medical Centre has a 2 bed treatment room equipped with electric beds, ECG, resuscitation kit and suture kit. We also have Skin Map skin cancer screening machine.
ADMIN SETUP
We have 2 receptionists working each day and on average 3-4 doctors. We are a fully computerised, paperless practice, using Pracsoft & Medical Director. We are fully accredited through to March 2021
NURSING SERVICES
Our practice has engaged an RN who works on Monday mornings only at this stage but we have plans to ramp up our nursing coverage to full time as soon as possible.
ALLIED HEALTH SERVICES
We have a dietitian, podiatrist and chiropractor onsite, each of whom consults two days a week.
SPECIALIST SERVICES
An extensive range of specialist services are available at Maroondah Hospital which is only 5 minutes away.
DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
Croydon Medical Centre has Clinical Labs onsite. MIA Radiology is only 3 minutes away.
OTHER CLINICAL SERVICES
Our Principle doctor conducts Skin cancer screening and excisions. Dr Cortes, has a diploma in skin cancer and specialises in skin cancer screening, excisions & other skin procedures.

Our doctors would normally see 4-6 patients/hour, Appointments are booked out 2-3 days in advance.

Croydon is an Eastern suburb of Melbourne, approximately 32km from the CBD.
SKILLS OR INTERESTS SOUGHT
We would prefer a Vocationally Registered GP but would be happy to consider a Non VR doctor as well.
CIRCUMSTANCES
Our surgery is experiencing growing patient demand.
CONTRACT TERMS
We can offer remuneration of 70%. Assistance with nursing home visits and mentoring/teaching would be appreciated.
