Everton Hills Medical Centre have a vacancy for a full time or part time permanent General Practitioner in our well-established medical practice in Everton Hills, on Brisbane’s north side (Only 15 minutes to Brisbane's CBD). We have a doctor who is currently working full time and is completely full every day, who will be leaving us. So filling his slot and taking on all of his patients is required. With a reputation in the community as a caring family owned practice, this opportunity would be very attractive for a GP wishing to escape a corporate environment and settle into a friendly medical practice which has become very much a part of the fabric of their local community.

SURGERY OVERVIEW
Everton Hills Medical Centre is a fully Bulk Billing surgery which has been established for 37 years in the pleasant north Brisbane suburb of Everton Hills. Expanded and refurbished 5 years ago, our medical centre is privately owned and operated and offers a varied patient demographic, from the very young right through to the very old.
Our reputation for good old fashioned, friendly & caring service has earned us the loyalty of several generations of many local families spanning a period of over 40 years. We are a training practice, hosting both students and doctors, as recently as last year.
The surgery is part of a small shopping centre with ample parking most times. The centre includes 2 coffee shops/eateries, bakery, grocery store, travel agency, dentist, pharmacy, podiatrist, physio, two restaurants, bottle store, a fish n chip shop, hairdresser and gift shop and toilet facilities.
Just down the road is a newly opened Child Care Centre. We are also close to Brookside shopping Centre and K-Mart Arana Hills. Only 20 mins to the CBD.
SURGERY OWNERSHIP
Privately owned by two doctors at the practice.
OUR DOCTORS
Everton Hills Medical Centre have 5 female and 3 male GP’s, each of them working 4 days or more.
We have gradually been adding doctors to our “family” over the last 5 years, following our two expansions. By doing so we ensure we are “patient ready” for incoming GPs, so everyone always has plenty of work.
MEDICARE STATUS
Everton Hills Medical Centre at the time of preparing this advertisement has a DWS/DPA doctor leaving. So is allowed to replace this doctor with another, on application.
SURGERY LAYOUT
The surgery itself has 8 consulting rooms, two waiting rooms, play areas for children, S&N Pathology collection 4 shops down, a large reception area and treatment room. We also have a detached kitchen and all areas are air-conditioned.
SURGERY ROUTINE
EHMC is open 6 days a week. Our hours are Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 6.00pm and Saturday mornings: 8.30am to 12.30pm.
We have five doctors working on most days with a normal standard appointment schedule of 15 minutes. Doctors and patients have the option of requesting longer appointments if required
TREATMENT ROOM
We have a fully equipped treatment room with ECGs, Spirometry, procedural instruments & dressings, 2 high/low beds for minor procedures, a Hyfrecator and emergency equipment including an AED machine. Our spare consult room is used for biopsies/suture removal /dressings, Care Plans etc, if the treatment room is full.
ADMIN SETUP
Our Practice employs three registered nurses of which we generally have two working on duty on a daily basis. We also have two to three reception staff on duty daily and a full time, on site, Practice Manager from Monday to Friday.
The practice is Fully Accredited. We use Medical Director and PracSoft for our medical software, with a server onsite and IT support nearby. We are now totally paperless.
NURSING SERVICES
Our 3 nurses are all registered and immunisation trained. They take care of all the immunisations and assist with everything and anything the doctors require of them. This includes helping with the Care Plans and Health Assessments, dressings, procedures, ECG’s and Spirometry’s
ALLIED HEALTH SERVICES
Within our shopping complex we have a Dentist, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist, Exercise physio and Pharmacy
DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
Sullivan and Nicolaides is available onsite. Qscan is located within 5 minutes of our surgery. There is a range of Diagnostic Imagining & Pathology Services within 15 minutes of our surgery.
OTHER CLINICAL SERVICES
One of our doctors has a Masters in Skin Cancer. Two of our doctors do regular minor skin procedures. Two of our GPs offers contraceptive insertions and removals.
PATIENT DEMOGRAPHICS
We have a broad range of patient demographics in Everton Hills. In the last two years we have worked hard in building our younger population as most of our patients were elderly from when the practice was originally established. The practice had not taken new patients for over ten years until our expansion 4 years ago, when we opened our books again. Since then we have been inundated with patients and our demographics now show our largest demographic to be in the 20 to 39 year age bracket.
BILLING ARRANGEMENTS
We are a Fully Bulk billing medical centre
PATIENT DEMAND
At present our books are full a week in advance. We are turning away 20 to 30 patients a day as we are so busy.
Our doctors’ appointments are at 15 minute intervals or longer as needed.
TOWN/SUBURB FACILITIES
Everton Hills is a pleasant suburb on Brisbane’s northside, an easy 20 minute drive from the CBD. It has many shopping complexes, railway stations, public and private schools and public swimming pools in close proximity. You can reach rural suburbs such as Samford within 20 minutes and the Sunshine Coast in less than 60 minutes.
CIRCUMSTANCES
Since our expansion 5 years ago, we have gradually added doctors that we felt suitable for our practice and as patient demand required. From late August 2020 we will have a doctor leaving us who now works full time and is seeing 30 plus patients a day. Our appointment book is booked solidly by the end of every day.
CONTRACT TERMS
We have an Agreement that we pay our doctors 70% of their daily billings. We ask that our doctors work at least one Saturday morning in 4.
No lock in contracts and we know you will love working here. 4-6 weeks of leave per year depending on the hours worked.
