Part time Female GP (2 days per week) and Part time male or female GP for weekends
Surgery Overview:
Coolangatta Medical Centre have two part time GP vacancies in our medical practice close to the NSW border at the Southern end of the Gold Coast. Established in 2013, we are a 9 doctor, mixed billing practice, located in a modern, purpose-built facility on Coolangatta’s main shopping strip, just metres from the beach. Coolangatta offers an enviable lifestyle with some of Australia’s best-known surf breaks along with many cafes, restaurants, retail shopping centres, resorts and other tourist attractions. We have a broad mix of patients from all walks of life, including a healthy number of tourists and holiday makers.
Job Description:
Our vacancy has arisen due to the recent departure of a full time GP, who relocated to Brisbane. We are struggling to service the current level of strong patient demand and are looking to immediately fill this gap with a female VR GP, commencing with 2 days a week initially, but with scope to work more in the future. No after-hours work would be required. There is also plenty of demand for a second VR GP to assist with Saturdays or Sundays on a fully private billing basis. A competitive remuneration package will be offered.
Surgery Layout:
Our practice is in a modern, purpose built, facility with 13 consulting rooms and a 4 bed treatment room. Operating lights are available for skin surgical procedures as well as ABI Doppler, Holter monitor and an audiometer. Undercover parking is available for both doctors and patients.
Clinical Services:
Coolangatta Medical Centre offers a wide range of general practice services, including skin cancer screening. We also offer on-site physiotherapists, podiatrist, psychologist, dietician and audiologist, along with a visiting cardiologist. We have SNP Pathology services onsite as well as a Chempro Pharmacy via an internal walk-thru door.
Administration:
Our consulting hours are Weekdays: 8.30am - 5.00pm, Saturdays: 8.30am - 12pm and Sundays 9.00am-12pm. We usually have 5-6 doctors working on average per day and appointments are scheduled in 15 minute timeslots. We have a very experienced practice manager as well as reception staff. Our practice is paperless, and we strive to be as automated as possible, using Best Practice, Automed and Surgical Partners. We are fully accredited with GPA Plus.

RA1 Inner Metropolitan
Treatment Room:
We have a 4 bed treatment room with operating lights for skin cancer procedures, ABI doppler, micro-suction ear equipment, holter monitor and an audiometer. Our team of experienced nurses consists of an RN and an EN. We also train nursing students from the nearby Southern Cross and Griffith Universities. Our nurses can assist with all procedures and do all of the preparation of Care Plans and Health Assessments. We have a dedicated CDM Nurse with their own room.
Surgery Billing:
We are a mixed billing practice, bulk billing pensioners, concession card holders and children under 16. Our standard private consultation fee is $71 Saturdays and Sundays are fully privately billed at the rate of $71 per patient on Saturdays and $82 on Sundays.
