Toukley Medical Services have a number of GP vacancies in each of our four state of the art medical centres in Tuggerah on the beautiful NSW Central Coast.
CORPORATE OVERVIEW
Toukley Medical Services is the parent company for a group of four medical practices, established under the leadership of Dr Brad Cranney. Dr Brad Cranney graduated from the University of NSW and was the Deputy Director of Accident & Emergency for Gosford District Hospital for 7 years before deciding to open his own General Practice in Toukley. Since then he has opened 3 additional practices on the Central Coast and is highly regarded by his peers. The practices offer a comprehensive range of much needed medical, allied health and specialist services to the various communities surrounding Tuggerah Lake on the NSW Central Coast.
MANAGEMENT
Being a small, geographically focused medical group, our organisation runs efficiently under the leadership of Dr Cranney and our Operations Manager Meaghan Buys. With 8 years’ experience in general practice and a background in accounting, Meaghan oversees the day to day management of our four surgeries with the assistance of onsite practice managers. With integrated computer systems, linked networks, GPA Accredited policies and procedures we are able to deliver a consistently high level of clinical care to our patients.
CLINICAL SERVICES
Toukley Medical Services offers a wide range of clinical services across our 4 medical practices which are all in close proximity with each other. As a result, our patients are never more than a fifteen-minute drive from the most appropriate clinical, allied health or specialist care for their individual needs. With 24 doctors, 12 allied health professionals and 3 specialists across our four centres, we can cover a very broad spectrum of clinical presentations.
OUR DOCTORS
Our four medical centres provide a high level of clinical and administrative support to our doctors as well as the infrastructure to pursue a wide range of clinical interests. Our doctors have the ability to consult from a number of our medical centres which allows them to better respond to their patients’ needs and offers far greater flexibility in their working week.
OUR MEDICAL CENTRES
Toukley Medical Services is unique in that all of our medical practices are within close proximity to each other and serve the same relatively small regional community. All of our medical practices are new or refurbished premises with an excess capacity of consulting rooms, spacious and well-equipped treatment rooms, full time nursing and admin support, onsite parking and wheelchair access. Although the Central Coast is no longer a Distribution Priority Area (DPA), some of our surgeries have DWS or AON exemptions, creating opportunities for IMGs or Non VR doctors to join us.
CLINICAL SUPPORT
Each of our medical centres has a team of RN and EN nurses who provide full time clinical support. We also have a wide range of allied health and specialist services onsite, including Pathology and radiology services located in the immediate area. The Central Coast region is served by two acute hospitals – Gosford and Wyong. Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital and regional trauma center for the Central Coast. Wyong Hospital is a major metropolitan hospital while Woy Woy Hospital and Long Jetty Healthcare Centre provide sub-acute care. Additionally, there are eight community health centres and 4 private hospitals.
ADMINISTRATION
With integrated computer systems, linked networks, Shared databases, accredited policies and procedures we are able to deliver a consistently high level of clinical care to our patients and give them the flexibility to visit any of our medical practices. All of our medical practices are GPA accredited and fully computerized, utilizing Best Practice. We have a marketing committee that is responsible for all marketing associated with clinic services and new doctors.
BILLING ARRANGEMENTS
We are a mixed billing group. Bulk billing is available to children, aged pensioners and some Health Care Card holders. The average price of our standard Consultation is $70 but we are happy for incoming GPs set their own billing fees, provided due consideration is given to our local demographics and socio-economic conditions.
OUR VACANCIES
We are ideally looking for one full time GP for each of our centres but are happy to consider part time. We have a number of AON and DPA positions available. Doctors are free to split their working week between our centres to respond to their patients’ needs and access the best clinical setting to pursue their interests.
CONTRACT TERMS
Toukley Medical Services offers a very competitive remuneration package, including a percentage of billing’s, PIP participation and a minimum hourly rate to help you settle in. We offer flexible hours, the ability to work in more than one clinic, an after-hours triage nurse that manages all afterhours enquiries and the ability to service local nursing home if preferred.

SURGERY OVERVIEW
Toukley Family Practice is located in the coastal town of Toukley, on the northern shores of Tuggerah Lake. Conveniently open 6 days per week, Toukley Family Practice has been serving the local community since 2003. The healthcare team at Toukley Family Practice are committed to providing comprehensive, high quality and multidisciplinary healthcare, individually tailored to the needs of our patients. Our GPA Accredited modern complex provides state of the art facilities for our patients’ comfort. Wheelchair access & disabled parking is provided at both entrances to the complex. Within our Toukley Family Practice complex there is a large treatment room staffed by experienced practice nurses skilled in the delivery of wound care, childhood & adult immunisations, health assessments & pre-employment medicals and who are also equipped to provide our patients with ECG recordings, hearing tests, blood sugar monitoring, INR monitoring and other community care co-ordinating activities. Our practice has 16 consulting rooms, 4 procedure rooms/skin clinics, a 3 bed treatment room, resus room, physiotherapy room. A number of allied health rooms are also located adjacent to the surgery.

OUR VACANCY
Toukley Family Practice have a vacancy for a permanent full-time VR or Non-VR GP. We are not classified as a DPA surgery but have an Area of Need (AON) GP position available until April 2020. The vacancy has arisen due to a number of our GPs cutting back their hours with a view to eventual retirement. We have a large existing patient base with ongoing demand to the extent that our female doctors are currently booked out up to 2 weeks in advance. We can offer a mixed billing practice with plenty of patients, full time nursing support, flexible hours, minimal after hours and great remuneration. The full-time role will include a share of our Saturday roster but no evening commitments.

SURGERY OVERVIEW
Warnervale GP Superclinic is located in the Central Coast suburb of Woongarrah, which borders the Pacific Motorway on the Western side of Tuggerah Lake. Commencing six years ago with just one GP and one Registered Nurse supported by 2 reception staff, the little practice, affectionately known as “The Farm” has grown to large medical centre with 12 consulting rooms. We now have 7 GPs, 3 Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologist, Clinical Psychologist, Podiatrist, Dietitian and Pathology Collection Centre. Our superclinic has provided in excess of 500,000 patient episodes – including GP consults, nurse related consults and allied health services.
Warnervale GP Superclinic is housed in the Warnervale Medical Complex, along with Warnervale Chemmart, Physio For You, Warnervale Dental, Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology, ENT Specialist and Paediatrician together with allied health professionals. Our clinic is open 6 days per week and contains 12 consult rooms, 2 bed treatment room, attached procedure room, resus room. Allied health is located upstairs in specialist.

The vacancy has arisen due to all of our GPs operating at full capacity and strong local population growth.
