Tumut Family Medical Centre is seeking the services of a permanent, fulltime GP, GP/VMO, GP/procedural VMO (with Obstetrics and/or Anaesthetics experience) to provide general practice services to our surgery and (if desired) on-call A&E services at Tumut District Hospital, 2km from the practice. Tumut Family Medical Centre was established in May 2003. Our original two-roomed house conversion expanded in 2005, with the addition of two more consultation rooms and a two-bed procedure/nurse’s room. We are located one block from the main street of Tumut, with all the essential services such as banking and shopping within easy walking distance of the surgery.Since its inception our practice has been known as a procedural medical centre. Previous incumbents (GP obstetricians and GP anaesthetists) have had changes in their directions and we are looking to re-build and strengthen these services.Our surgery is affiliated with the University of New South Wales Clinical School and we routinely mentor medical students and student nurses throughout the year. We have also hosted James Cook University and University of Notre Dame medical students from time to time. We are an accredited registrar training practice and have had training registrars working with us for over 15 years.
